Torment is an AAU youth girls’ basketball organization for girls entering 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade this fall 2018 for the Champaign-Urbana and surrounding areas. Torment is the vision of Coach Heather Craven, Tolono Unit #7 alumni, who has many years coaching girls’ basketball. Her vision is to give youth girls the opportunity to build on their basketball fundamentals and cultivate a safe and disciplined environment to develop and maintain their highest level/potential in the game of basketball.

 

 The overall goal of this organization is to provide a competitive developmental youth girls’ AAU basketball program that includes quality instruction in all aspects of basketball with an emphasis on fundamentals and skill development. This organization will also give girls the necessary skills to perform successfully in basketball and in life with an emphasis on sportsmanship, respect, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. 

 

As this organization provides this opportunity to these girls, we do have expenses of uniforms, tournaments, equipment, insurance, gym rentals, etc that can place a financial burden on the parents wanting to be able to provide this opportunity for their daughter. As a result, we are in need of financial assistance from area businesses.
